Creekside
Park
Creekside
Park is a terrific neighborhood park with playscape, swings, picnic
tables, water fountain, and a BBQ area. There also is a beautiful
playhouse which was completely funded and built by Creekside
neighbors, and painted by local artists Trish Black and April
Patterson. Hike-and-bike trails run through the park and along the
nearby creek, woods, and fields. Creekside Park is on Settler's
Valley Drive, just south of Oxford Drive, and is the location of
many neighborhood events and parties. |

Wuthrich
Park (formerly Mountain Side Park)
Our
newest park, named to honor a long-time Pflugerville family, is
between the Creekside and Mountain Creek neighborhoods. A
hike-and-bike trail connects Mountain View Drive to Olympic Drive,
making the park easily accessible to both neighborhoods. Park
amenities include a large playscape with a climbing wall, shaded
picnic areas, BBQ areas, water fountains, and trees. In coordination
with the Pflugerville Parks & Recreation Department, the Mountain
Creek Home Owners Association financed most of the park amenities.
Creekside Neighborhood Association contributed to the cost of the
trees, including a Mountain Laurel tree which was planted in memory
of a Creekside neighbor child, Lindsey Ogle. |

Adopt-a-Trail
As part of the City of Pflugerville's Adopt-a-Trail program,
Creekside has "adopted" the trail through the neighborhood.
Adopt-a-Trail allows citizens to take pride in their community and help
keep the costs of litter collection under control. Creekside organizes
four clean-up days per year including the citywide "Keep Pflugerville
Beautiful Trash Off" each March.
Memorial bench for Zach Vasquez in Creekside Park
Zach had many friends in Creekside and spent many happy times
playing in Creekside Park. Many Creekside neighbors generously made
donations to go toward the memorial for Zach Vasquez in our park. The
bench serves as a lovely place to sit and rest in our park. For
information on the Zachary Vasquez Memorial Golf Tournament, Concert,
BBQ, and Auction, which benefits a college scholarship fund for local
high school athletes, visit www.zacharyvasquez.com. |

New trees in Creekside Park
Many native trees have been planted in Creekside Park which should
provide shade and enjoyment for many years to come. A big thanks to
Creekside resident Anthony Martin for working with Tree Folks and the
Pflugerville Parks & Recreation Dept (PARD) to plant the trees and
install the sprinkler system. Creekside Neighborhood Association and
PARD provided the parts for the sprinkler system and Anthony and other
Creekside neighbors installed it. |

Park
Dedication
On December 10, 1999 CNA, with the help of the Pflugerville Parks
and Recreation Department held a park dedication party for Creekside
Park. About 50 Creekside neighbors, Parks & Recreation Commisioners,
and community representatives attended. Certificates of appreciation
were presented to former Creekside neighbor Lauren Stewart, Pflugerville
Parks & Recreation Dept. Director Glenn Holzer, and Councilman Randy
Strickland for their hard work. To honor Lauren for her hard work,
we called the park "The Lauren Stewart Community Park" for the day!
It was a fun event to celebrate Creekside Park and to acknowledge
the efforts of the many people who have helped get the park built.
