Excellent choice

We are so happy we booked Hotel La Casona Real! The whole establishment is beautiful and bright. It’s about three blocks straight shot to the Ferry port and main boulevard. We had a large king bedroom on the second floor. It was clean and comfortable. It also has a dedicated air conditioner which worked great.

The bathroom shower was large and had good water pressure. We booked through Travelocity, and the rate was $62USD per night. The staff was friendly and accommodating as well; they even let us check in early at 8:30 am without an extra fee. A guy from the staff told me about the cozumel coral restoration tour for groups – it sounds amazing. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed everything about this place. Excellent location is close to town but far enough away to be quiet at night. Beautiful pool and a great patio to enjoy breakfast. Room was spotless, and we loved having a mini-fridge for drinks. Friendly staff and not crowded any of the days we were there. It is a gem of a place to stay!

Where to begin? We were hoping to sneak an inexpensive vacation, with the 70.3 Ironman race as a focal point, and Casona Real fit the bill. We got a fantastic price for a nine-day stay, so we figured we’d keep an open mind.

Well. We were pretty much the only guests, so we were able to choose the room we wanted. We wanted ground floor and quiet, so we decided #7, right at the end of the corridor, overlooking the pool. We had very minimal road-noise, though the hotel is concrete, so talking in the hallway is amplified.

Everything worked well. Nice flat-screen TV. Quiet, cold AC. Fast, reliable wifi, both in the room and by the pool. The water in the shower would get warm/hot enough if you let it run long enough. There is a good-sized fridge in the room, but no safe; we had NO issues with theft. The door does NOT lock automatically, so be sure to lock it on your way out. We tied it to a bag, purse, or person to keep track of it. The fixtures in the bathroom are new and work great, lots of toilet paper, soap, towels, but bring your shampoo and facecloth (if you need one). We did have some ants in the room, but they were just of the partying variety, not the biting variety. They’d just run around on the wall near the AC when it was turned on. They stayed away from us and the fridge, so we were cool with sharing the room with them.

It included breakfast with your stay, and it is the same every day. That does not bother me in the least. Toast, very fresh fruit, juice, and all the coffee you can drink, served beside the pool — an excellent way to start the day.
