On tour to Holbox and had an hour to spare and came across this bar on the beach. We had to spend 400 Mexican each to get a table. The 400 would have given us a bed/table/shower for the whole day. It was worth it, and the view, the food was terrific. Wish we had just got ourselves to Holbox for the day and bagged a table. Next time!
My husband and I stayed at Amaité for 3 nights while on a road trip through the Yucatán. We absolutely loved this hotel. At arrival, we felt very welcome, and our room looked way more beautiful in real life than it does on pictures.
The balcony, and especially the view from it, was breathtakingly beautiful. We loved the fact that the hotel is in town, with everything to do so close but still felt kind of secluded while lying on the beach.
I highly recommend this place. We only stayed one night, but it was all right. The beach is literally in front of the room. The water is shallow and great for kids or for adults looking to relax. Front desk staff was amiable and helpful – we will book a mini submarine cozumel tour recommended by them, providing info about the island (activities, restaurants, etc.). Breakfast was very healthy with a dish of fresh fruit.
The hotel was more than we expected. It was our first time in Holbox, and we knew it was going to be more of a laid back relaxing style. We met one of the owners who were super friendly and welcoming. Almost always followed by his beautiful and well-behaved dog Gia.
Service was exceptional. We even lost a cellphone in one of the tour boats and did not realize until later, but when we came downstairs to ask in the reception how could we contact the crew of the ship, the receptionist made some phone calls, and after 2 hours we recovered the cellphone. The location is fantastic, right in front of the beach.
Breakfast was fresh, healthy, and delicious, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again, no doubt.
