I stayed there for seven nights in a double room with a friend of mine. The rooms are basic but clean and have AC. Sadly the AC in our room broke during our stay, but the staff relocated us to a bigger room with a balcony without surcharge.
Strumming in the mexican heat is some hard yakka, so if you’re after a chilled out hostel with an excellent kitchen/common area – this is it. Take your modelos or coronitas in and take a load off. The boys who run the show are legends and Antoine the divemaster is a straight-up GC.
This hostel is a little paradise. Everything is so well decorated and clean. The staff is amiable, always smiling, and ready to help you; Oscar told us about some cozumel shore snorkeling tours. I got the chance to do my open water certification with Antoine, and I couldn’t have asked for a better trainer. He was very patient and reassuring. The staff and itself made my experience on Cozumel ten times better than it would have been. 100% recommended, and if you want to go diving, ask for Antoine (he’s fantastic).
I stayed for seven nights in both Hostelito’s hostel and private rooms. The place is beautiful, right downtown, and has a little swimming pool, kitchen, and roof lounge area. It is conducive to both being social or having your own space. I felt very comfortable and relaxed while staying there.
I did scuba diving with Juanjo for my advanced PADI course as well as for fun dives. He is a fantastic and focused instructor that cares about teaching his students and helping them improve their skills. I researched Cozumel diving extensively, and he had the best prices that I found. Maximize your time in Cozumel and stay at Hostelito and dive with Juanjo.
This is my second time visiting Cozumel, and I went back to Hostelito because the place is fantastic. It is a high price and location and most of all, great vibe. Location is a few steps away from the port where the ferry docs and it has all the good restaurants in the vicinity. I came two years ago with my boyfriend and this time had to take a friend to see the beauty of the island.
I would highly recommend staying here for couples, and also backpackers for the island offers a lot of activities and beautiful sites. Will come back and stay here again!
