Spent 3 nights at this hotel during our stay on Isla Holbox. Our visit was organized through TUI and was our first 3 nights of a 10 night holiday in Mexico.
The hotel is set right on the beachfront with the villas set amongst tropical trees and plants. A charming setting and atmosphere which makes you feel like your staying in a tropical paradise. It was really cool passing iguanas and raccoons on our way to our rooms!
The rooms are clean, spacious, and well presented and maintained. The beds are huge, and the amenities in the room are great, especially the fridge. I wasn’t a fan of the open plan style bathroom as you don’t get much privacy, but that’s only a minor con.
The pool area is small but real, and there aren’t many sunbeds around the pool, so you have to get in there quick if you want one, but there are plenty of sunbeds at the front of the hotel. However, we were out on trips and exploring the island during our stay, so we did not use them much anyway.
The buffet restaurant for breakfast has a beautiful outdoor seating area (indoor dining available as well), and the food is really fresh and tasty with a decent amount of choice for a small hotel – pancakes, waffles, fresh fruits and juices, eggs, bacon, made-to-order omelet and quesadilla station, etc. I really enjoyed all the breakfast food. We did not eat there for lunch or dinner, but we did purchase some beers and cocktails, and these were tasty but rather expensive.
The staff was accommodating and friendly. Check in and check out was hassle free and well organized, and booking taxis and hiring golf carts through the reception was easy and convenient. Excellent hotel.
